This documentation has been designed to give you an understanding of the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Mission Editor (ME). The ME can be described as a 3D height map editor. Easy to learn and powerful, the ME was designed so that anybody interested in making a Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War map can easily create a fairly detailed, functional, and attractive map regardless of “modding” skill level. To give you an example of how powerful this tool is, you need only look at the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (DoW) single-player campaign, and the multiplayer missions that shipped with the game. The entire single-player campaign is completely data-driven and created by the design team with the help of the Mission Editor- nothing was hardcoded. With a little practice, you too can create a front line experience of your own.
Note that you can also find Mission Editor tutorials on this page:

i cannot work the ME for some reason. Every time i start up ME a program Debug comes up and doesn't let me do anything.
The debug window always comes up just ignore this and use the other window and open up a new mission and away you go (unless there is only the debug window showing?)
I just got ME and i created a good map but every time i try to save it the computer says «Selected file is outside of all known scenario folders, The ME can only write to files that are under th root folder.
Root. C:\program files\THQ\Dawnof War? " and my file is under C:\programFiles\THQ\dawnofwar but it still wont let me save.
Have you created the Scenarios / MP? folders? as this is where you save to save your maps.
Your file structure should look like this:
C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War\W40k\Data\Scenarios\MP
If it doesn't go into the the W40K\Data folder and make the folders as above.
